How can satellite data, sensors and other data-driven tools be used to create new solutions to real-world challenges within water, climate and sustainability?
This is the focus of Water from Space, a hackathon taking place 17–19 August. The hackathon begins with a kickoff at The Kitchen in Aarhus and concludes with final pitches at The National Climate Summit in Lemvig.
Water from Space brings together students from different academic backgrounds to develop ideas and solutions across disciplines. Participants do not need to be experts in satellite data, climate or programming to take part. A hackathon benefits from many different skills, perspectives and experiences — from idea development and analysis to communication, problem-solving and teamwork.
During the hackathon, participants will work in teams on concrete cases and gain hands-on experience with innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, pitching and developing solutions with relevance for companies, organisations and society. It is also an opportunity to build practical experience that can strengthen your CV and show how your academic skills can be applied in real-world contexts.
Participants can sign up either as a team or individually. It is not necessary to have a team in advance.
Food and drinks will be provided, and participants will have the opportunity to compete for prizes of up to EUR 3,000.
