The biggest sky survey ever attempted has begun, and Denmark is in

High in the Chilean Andes, the Vera C. Rubin Observatory has officially started the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST): a ten-year, night-after-night filming of the southern sky. Through a national in-kind contribution, a Danish data centre led from the Niels Bohr Institute, researchers from across Danish institutions can get direct access to one of the most ambitious scientific datasets ever assembled

KorDan GINP: Strengthening Ties with the South Korean Space Ecosystem

A Danish space delegation recently travelled to Daejeon, South Korea, to strengthen collaboration across the Korean space ecosystem. Karsten Bubber, steering committee member of Aarhus Space Centre (SpaCe), represented SpaCe during the delegation visit.

Aarhus turns off the lights — and AU points its telescopes at the stars

When Aarhus Festival 2026 concludes with the international artwork Seeing Stars, the city will become darker for a while, allowing the night sky to reappear. SpaCe – Aarhus Space Centre, Ole Rømer Obser-vatory and the Remote Teaching Telescope will contribute telescopes and astronomical outreach, giving the public a chance to get closer to stars, planets and other celestial objects in the heart of Aarhus.
