A dark night sky is essential for observing the faint light from distant stars, planets and galaxies. But as artificial light increases, natural darkness is becoming harder to find.
In this live recording of RumSnak, hosts Anders Høeg Nissen and Tina Ibsen are joined by Hans Kjeldsen, Professor of Astronomy at Aarhus University and Director of SpaCe – Aarhus Space Centre, for a conversation about the importance of darkness for astronomy, the effects of light pollution, and what we lose when the stars disappear from view.
After the podcast, there will be a short introduction to the night sky above Aarhus and to what may be visible later that evening during Seeing Stars.
